Amyloid Education Series 2.0, Part 1: Amyloidosis Uncovered: Pathophysiology, Clinical Clues, and Diagnostic Imaging – CCS Position Statement & Beyond

Join experts Dr. Kareem Morant, Dr. Natalie Ho, Dr. Margot Davis, and Dr. Aws Almufleh for the opening session of the Amyloid Education Series 2.0. This webinar explores the evolving understanding of amyloidosis, from its underlying pathophysiology to the key clinical clues that raise suspicion for this often-overlooked disease. Participants will review the latest CCS position statement and gain practical insight into diagnostic strategies, including the use of echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and PYP scanning. Interactive discussions will help bridge evidence to practice and strengthen diagnostic confidence.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the underlying pathophysiology of amyloidosis and its implications for clinical presentation.
  • Recognize common and atypical clinical features that raise suspicion (red flags) for amyloidosis in various practice settings.
  • Discuss imaging modalities (echocardiogram, PYP scan, and cardiac MRI) used in the diagnostic workup of suspected cardiac amyloidosis.
