This course is a comprehensive, evidence-based program designed to support clinicians in the timely recognition and management of cardiac amyloidosis. Developed by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society in collaboration with the Canadian Society of Echocardiography, this course reflects the latest advances in imaging, diagnostics, and disease-modifying therapies that are reshaping clinical practice.
Through a combination of expert-led presentations, patient perspectives, imaging demonstrations, and case-based discussions, participants will gain a practical understanding of the epidemiology, diagnostic pathways, and contemporary management of cardiac amyloidosis. The program emphasizes early detection, structured diagnostic approaches aligned with current guidelines, and the integration of emerging tools such as artificial intelligence into clinical workflows.
Participants will also explore evolving treatment strategies, including novel therapeutics and approaches to managing comorbidities, alongside principles for risk stratification, follow-up, and multidisciplinary care. By the end of the program, learners will be better equipped to confidently identify, assess, and manage cardiac amyloidosis across a range of clinical settings.
